Congress has reached out massively against Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for her approach of the Indian economy and her statement that despite the global slowdown, India’s growth is higher than China and the US. Congress said the country needs a new finance minister.

The distinguished lady [Nirmala Sitharaman] says India’s GDP growth rate is higher than that of the US and China. But Madam, the US is a $21 trillion and China $ 14.8 trillion economy. Do you even recognise what ‘base levels’ indicate? We are at $2.8 trillion.”
