Amit Shukla Zomato Customer gets Police Notice.
That Muslim delivery man, Faiyaz at the centre of the twitter storm said he was hurt.
On Wednesday, the man, identified as Amit Shukla, took to Twitter and said he had cancelled his Zomato order as they had allocation a non-Hindu rider.
After that Tweet from Customer Amit Shukla, Zomato responds to Amit by mentioning in their tweet, “Food doesn’t have a Religion, Religion in Food”.
Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal also tolled in saying, “we are proud of our esteemed customers and partners. We aren’t sorry to lose any business that comes in the way of our values”.
The Madhya Pradesh Police has determined to initiate precautionary action against the Jabalpur man who cancelled his Zomato order mentioning the religion of the delivery executive. police have asked a written not spread religious hatred.
Police said Amit Shukla action amounts to hurting religious sentiments and a notice will be sent to him asking him to explain his conduct. Though no formal case is filed, the police said it had has taken notice of the Twitter post.
That Notice will be sent to Amit. He’ll be warned if he tweets anything which is against ideals of Constitution. Action will be taken on surveillance said Jabalpur Superintendent of Police Amit Singh.
Amit Singh Police SP said constitutional terms where there is no place for any kind of untouchability and acts disturbing religious concert.
The Notice has issued under section 107 (Security for keeping the peace) of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC). The Matter was referred to Garha police station whose limits Amit Shukla address appears.
