Huawei P50 Pocket Could Be The Outstanding Foldable Mobile

Huawei seeks to recover at all costs the market that the United States veto took away from it, which unfortunately affected its sales and inside its mobile devices, which cannot use Google services.

This last feature has alienated some users who are more accustomed to having such services on their mobiles. The Chinese company’s commitment now reinforces what they offer at the hardware and software level.

An example of this is the recently presented Huawei P50 Pro, with a beautiful design, an outstanding screen and a well-known Petal service that is much improved compared to the first devices, such as the Nova 9.

To finish adjusting its offer, Huawei has also presented the folding version of the P50, the Huawei P50 Pocket, which I have had the opportunity to test for some time. It wants to compete directly with others, such as the recent OPPO Find N.

In general, these avant-garde terminals, associated with large families of different brands, tend to take good care of their screen, although they still have a slight nuance in the fold that appears on their screen.

If you want to know more about what I thought of Huawei’s foldable, the Huawei P50 Pocket, keep reading…

The Huawei P50 Pocket is light, with only 190 grams of weight, in addition to the fact that its transport in the pocket once it is folded is very comfortable, but it leaves enough traces.

First of all, the first thing that stands out about the Huawei P50 Pocket is its elegant design, with certain reliefs on its casing that show you that you are facing a very competitive high-end in this section.

However, in folding, one of the essential characteristics are its measurements. In this sense, the unfolded height is 170 millimetres, while folded, it is reduced to 87.3 millimetres. On the other hand, the width is 75.5 millimetres.

As for its thinness, I was surprised that the terminal has more than correct measures: 7.2 millimetres unfolded and 15.2 millimetres folded. In addition, its weight is very comfortable, only 190 grams, less than some folded terminals.

It is easy to unfold, and transport in a pocket is comfortable thanks to its possibility of folding. Huawei embroiders this section, as it did with the non-folding version of the device.

The Huawei P50 Pocket has decided not to incorporate 5G, adding a USB Type-C input for connecting headphones and charging.

Rarely a high-end device does not have 5G. This is the case of the Huawei P50 Pocket, which decides to put aside this type of technology, and it includes NFC, Bluetooth 5.2 and WiFi compatible with 5G.

Different sensors are also added, such as the fingerprint in the same place as the unlock button. It also has USB type C to charge the mobile or add headphones. In this sense, it does not have a minijack connector.

Finally, two cards can be incorporated into the SIM slot, with which you can comfortably separate the terminal into two users.

It has two screens: one of them located next to the rear camera in the folded mode plus the main one, where at some point you can notice the bending of the device.

One of the specifications that most caught my attention is its screens. I speak in the plural because it has the main one, 6.9 inches, joined by the second one when the terminal is folded, next to the rear camera.

In the first place, the main screen is OLED –2,790×1,188 pixels– and integrates a refresh rate of up to 120 HZ, with a touch sampling frequency of 300 Hz. Second, the external screen is also OLED –340×340 pixels– although in this case, the refresh rate reaches 60 Hz.

As for the first, the fluidity is fantastic. However, on the second screen, I have sometimes had to press more than necessary to use it. Although what has surprised me the most is its integration with the camera and other features, as I will mention later.

Although the Huawei P50 Pocket is more than outstanding in the performance section, thanks to the Snapdragon 888 4G processor, I have missed 5G, a booming feature, especially throughout 2022.
