- A normal person can’t apply for a ration card, only a MeeSeva operator can apply with his unique ID and password which is authorized by MeeSeva.
- In the ration card form, you have to fill in the details like name, age, gender, father’s name, address details, mobile no, qualification details, district, region, family members, the total income of the family, etc.
- Submit all the documents that are required and all the family members should available at the time of applying for a ration card it is because a photo of members will be captured by a MeeSeva operator.
- All the documents were uploaded and submitted to the officials EPDS Telangana and after that process, officials will visit the present address of the applicant for an inquiry and after the process of inquiry, the new ration card is allotted.
Required Documents to Apply for New Ration Card

How to Remove Existed Members from the Ration Card List

Government officials have advised that applications have to remove their existing names from ration cards before applying for new ration cards. If a family member is married and his wife and children have to create a new ration card, to apply for a new ration card that person’s name should not exist in his previous family ration card.
Example: Anil is a son of Manohar, and Anil’s name is on the Manohar family ration card, and a year later Anil is married and has a wife and son. And now Anil is applying for a new ration card separately for his family wife and son. To apply for a new ration card Anil’s name should not exist in his father’s ration card name. Anil has to remove his name from the previous ration card. After that Anil can apply for a new ration card for his own family.
New ration cards can be applied at MeeSeva Telangana
On February 7, 2025, it was reported that the Telangana government issued a memo enabling the MeeSeva centers to accept new food security or ration card applications across the state. The memo, signed by the Commissioner of Civil Supplies, guided ESD MeeSeva to activate services across centers in Telangana.
The state informatics officer, NIC, has been directed to allow the web service of the ration card database to Meeseva to enable food security card ration card applications through the MeeSeva centers.
As everyone was in a hurry and carried all the needed documents and started visiting Meesave centers in Telangana State to apply for new ration cards, MeeSeva officials denied that the application for ration cards was not yet official.
Previously ration cards were created by officials of the government not by MeeSeva, due to this no proper communication between government officials, and MeeSeva operators were confused about how to apply for for new ration cards.

EPDS Telangana department has stated that it has given orders only to upload those applications that had come through the Praja Palana program, not for all.
New ration cards for economically disadvantaged people can apply by visiting MeeSeva easily, the website was also ready to fill the new applications that were created by EPDS Telangana but there was no proper communication between government officials, the EPDS department, and the Civil Supplies department this issue causes and the orders were withdrawn and the website provided to the Meeseva was withdrawn quickly.
While the government asserts the ration card portal will be operational within 10–15 days, citizens of Telangana are very angry and don’t have any hope that the government will accept new applications for ration cards or not.
The Civil Supplies Department is expected to have an emergency session to address the technical problems and expedite the portal’s restoration. Meanwhile, citizens are urged to avoid overcrowding MeeSeva centers until the website is fully functional.
Why Previously New Ration Cards are not Accepted at MeeSeva?
Here is a simple explanation: The Telangana government planned to provide new ration cards to the members who don’t have ration cards, and they are taking the help of MeeSeva to apply for ration cards.
In previous government ration cards were applied via other portals, now government has to give website access and data of all the ration card holders to MeeSeva. Here MeeSeva is operating as the main portal to apply food security card.
Due to some technical glitches and not having proper communication with departments like EPDS, NFSA, and Telangana Civil Supplies this issue caused and website for new ration cards to be down now for certain days.
