WhatsApp Privacy Policy, terms of service to continue using WhatsApp

WhatsApp users notification about its new terms of service and privacy policy. The organisation notified users about the modifications made in the privacy policy and terms of service.

In India and some other country users, users had begun receiving the notification. Still, received many users with the WhatsApp notification first thing in the morning.

“WhatsApp is refreshing its terms and privacy policy,” the notification sent to Android and iOS users by the organisation read. Some of the significant updates would incorporate how WhatsApp processes the user’s information. “How businesses can use Facebook hosted services to store & manage their WhatsApp chats and How we WhatsApp partners with Facebook to offer combinations across the Facebook Company Products,” the WhatsApp notification stated.

WhatsApp’s new term of service and privacy policy will go active on February 8, 2020. To proceed using the WhatsApp messaging App services, users will have to accept the terms and conditions. If the users do not accept the terms of service, they will no longer be authorised to use the app from February 8.

Privacy Policies also updated on the WhatsApp website and given a comprehensive overview of how the app will change.

” Our Services have optional features which, if used by you, ask us to assemble additional information to implement such features. You will be notified of such a collection, as relevant. If you decide not to present the information required to use a feature, you will be unable to use it. For example, you cannot share your location with your contacts if you do not collect your device’s location data. Can manage permissions through your Settings menu on both Android and iOS devices,” WhatsApp wrote.

WhatsApp also revealed how much of the data is collected automatically by the app. Among the information you share with WhatsApp are your mobile phone number and your profile name to create and run a WhatsApp account.

WhatsApp declares that they do not hold your messages and says that news that you send and receive aren’t typically stored on their servers.

“We collect information about your activity on our Services, like service-related, diagnostic, and performance information. This holds information about your activity (including how you use our Services, your Services settings, how you interact with others using our Services (including when you interact with a business), and the time, frequency, and duration of your activities and interactions), log files, and diagnostic, crash, website, and performance logs and reports,” WhatsApp wrote.

“This also includes information about when you registered to use our Services; the features you use similar our messaging, calling, Status, groups including group name, group picture, group description, payments or business features; profile photo, “about” information; whether you are online when you last used our Services your “last seen”; and when you last refreshed your “about” information,” it stated.
