Nikon has announced Nikon 2020/2021 Photo Contest. Nikon is a Japanese multinational corporation headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, and founded on July 25, 1917.
Both beginners and professional photographers alike, and now in its 38th Edition, the Nikon Photo Contest has been going since 1969. During its life, it has seen over 440,000 photographers enter the contest, and had over 1.71 million photographs submitted.
In 2018-2019 (the 37th edition), the Nikon Photo Contest celebrated it’s 50th Anniversary, with around 33,000 photographers from 170 countries around the world beginning over 97,369 works.
Addressing of online contests, Nikon has recently confirmed its 38th Nikon Photo Contest for 2020-21. The competition concedes creators across the globe to address entries. The contest is for all kinds of photographers and videographers who hold in the power of visual storytelling.
“The environment surrounding the image-making culture is continually changing with the times, and it always encourages us with new perspectives. We are happy to provide a place for creators to discover new creations by changing to the latest methods and styles of expression and deliver important stories through the common language of imaging.”
Looking at past winning submissions, we find out that there are different awards and categories for creators to submit their work.
There is a Next Generation Award for a single photo and a photo story. Then there is an Open Award for a unique picture and a photo story. There is a Short Film Award category with Gold, Silver, and Bronze prizes.
Nikon Photo Contest has been confirmed for 2020-2021. But the details, including instructions for how to apply and send entries, will be announced on the official website very soon.
