The Importance of Re-evaluating Web Design For the Benefit of SEO

How about when it’s time to stop tinkering and when it’s time to scrap your current website for a new and fresh web design? It may be sooner than you think.

Redesigning a website is more than adding a page, it implies completely reinventing the look; it is an image change that will send your clients and users the message that your company is growing, strengthening your brand and its reception of it.

On the other hand, you must consider the investment in time and money that will have to be made and consider that redesigning your website can be intimidating for those who use your website regularly.

Let’s see those things that you can consider to evaluate redesigning your website:

It’s been a while:

It’s generally recommended that websites undergo a redesign every 2-5 years. If you’re getting close to that timeframe, your website is probably already looking outdated compared to your competitors. An outdated website can leave visitors wondering if the owner has abandoned it or if the company still exists. It can also give users the impression that you are not cutting edge, which can be detrimental to your reputation if you try to present yourself as a modern or technological service; even if your information is current, a website with outdated web design can give a negative vibration.

It looks unprofessional:

Launching your first blog or business website is an exciting opportunity requiring much time and effort. With a million things to do, designing a great website isn’t top of the priority list. But if, two years later, you’re still using the site your little brother made for you, it’s probably time to consider a website redesign. A “starter” website can give users the impression that you haven’t been or plan to be around for a long time.

Doesn’t match your brand anymore:

It is not uncommon for a blogger or business website owner to start their website project with one type of target audience in mind. Still, it changes direction and appeals to another type of user over time. It’s also not uncommon for a business to subtly change what it is or what it offers over time, perhaps without the owner even realizing it. In realities like this, websites can easily be left behind, and a website that does not adequately represent the company’s current brand will not attract the right audience. If there is confusion about the brand, you cannot attract the public. If you feel that your website is not a true representation of your current business, or if it reflects more of the past than the present or future, you need a new web design.

If it is not responsive :

If you designed your website a few years ago, perhaps you didn’t realize the importance of that website being able to be viewed comfortably on mobile devices. It is estimated that half of the users access the Internet through a mobile phone or tablet. Regardless of your area or your target audience, your potential readers will not want to wait until you have a computer in front of you to read an article or order a product online, even more so if they enter your site via a mobile device and do not like what they see, they will quickly go to your competition. If your website still requires your mobile visitors to enlarge the screen with their fingers, it’s time for a website redesign.

You are not meeting your goal:

While there was a time when every business needed a website to have a website, it is now considered bad practice to build a website for the sake of having a website. Instead, they are now used in quick visits to perform some action, be it reading an article, asking a question, buying a product, or subscribing to a newsletter, among others. The number of potential actions is unlimited, and websites often offer more than one action to their visitors. If there are many people coming to your site but no actions to show it, then something isn’t working; maybe your branding isn’t consistent, your call to action isn’t clear, or you’re funneling users to us. To the right places within your site.
